Axiom Saves The International Space Station (Mockup)

Axiom Space saves the International Space Station (ISS). But not the one in low Earth orbit. The full-sized mockup at the Fry’s Electronics store in Webster, Texas. Axiom will lease the sprawling retail site for its engineering operations. Building out the workspace, offices, and lab space underneath the ISS mockup. If you’re not familiar with Axiom, they’re building the first commercial space station.

“Whitey on the Moon” In 2020

As I watched the SpaceX Dragon Crew launch and the George Floyd protests unfold on YouTube on Saturday, May 30, 2020, I remembered the protest scene from First Man (2018) that stood as a counterpoint in the biopic of Neil Armstrong being the first man on the moon in 1969.

Whitey On The Moon – George Floyd/SpaceX Dragon Crew

Gil Scott-Heron wrote “Whitey On The Moon” as a response to the problems on earth when millions of dollars were spent to send white men to the moon in 1969. Fifty years later, nothing has changed. George Floyd, a black man, was killed by police, sparking protests, riots and looting on earth. NASA and SpaceX sent white men on the Dragon Crew capsule to the International Space Station.
