Will Walker Stalker Con Make A Virtual Comeback?

A left for dead comic con might be making a virtual con comeback. 3fams Productions bought the assets of Walker Stalkers LLC last October. They plan to bring Walker Stalker Con to their VirtualCons app and have an in-person event in mid-2021. The Tennessee Attorney General’s Office recently announced a settlement with Walker Stalker LLC. A restitution fund will be set up to refund money to customers, celebrities, and vendors. Will 3fams Production succeed where Walker Stalker LLC failed?

Many in-person comic cons last year postponed to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Star Trek Las Vegas Con cancelled for last month and announced August 11-15, 2021, at the Rio Suites Hotel. SiliCon With Adam Savage announced August 27-29, 2021, at the San Jose Convention Center. BayCon postponed to 2021 but sent out an email last month that they are postponing until 2022. Using VueScan As My Scanning Software for 15 Years

One of my most popular videos in 2020 was a simple fix for the Canon scanner. Many users may not have read the manual or noticed that there was a slide switch on the back of the scanner. If they plug everything in, the scanner appears to work. Until they try to scan something. Moving the slide switch from lock to unlock releases the scan head for normal operation. That video has gotten over 5,000 views in the past year. A viewer asked which scanning software I would recommend. I’ve been using VueScan from Hamrick Software for 15 years on my Mac and Windows systems. I only paid $100 USD for a professional license years ago.

SiliCon With Adam Savage has finally updated their website for the New Year. Out with the old content for Silicon Valley Comic Con 2019. In with the new content for SiliCon With Adam Savage 2020. Are Virtual Cons The Future of Comic Cons?

Wizard World started its Virtual Experiences with the cast of “Supernatural” on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, and the cast of “Once Upon An Time” on Saturday, April 4, 2020. Each person appeared in their own window during the livestream on Facebook, Twitch TV and YouTube. It’s almost like attending a panel session in person. Tickets were available for one-on-one video chat, recorded video message, and/or an autographed picture from one of the guests. Prices ranged from $50 USD to $200 USD. With many in-person events cancelled or postponed due to the pandemic, are virtual cons the future of comic cons?

SiliCon With Adam Savage Replaces Silicon Valley Comic Con

When Silicon Valley Comic Con 2019 ended last August, no announcements were made for the 2020 show dates. That was unusual since previous shows had the dates for the next show in advance. The only potential date we had for the last six months was a picture posted on Friends of Comic Cons that listed October 16 to 18, 2020 from inside the 2019 program guide. The official website for Silicon Valley Comic Con updated this past Sunday night with the new dates and more announcements forthcoming. But tickets weren’t on sale yet. As of yesterday afternoon, the old website redirected to the new website.

Silicon Valley Comic Con is dead! Long live SiliCon With Adam Savage!
