Fan Expo SF 2023 Hobbit Guest Announcement

Fan Expo SF 2023 Hobbit Guest Announcement

I mentioned the Mark Hamill Live panel for Friday, November 24, 2023, at 8:00 PM in my previous video. What I didn’t mention was that Ewan McGregor has his own Live panel for Sunday, November 26, 2023, at 2:30PM. If Mark Hamill has a panel on Friday, and Ewan McGregor has a panel on Sunday, what about Saturday?

The Hobbits from “The Lord of The Rings” will have their own panel at Fan Expo San Francisco 2023, celebrating the 20th anniversary of “The Return of The King.”

The “One Reunion to Rule Them All” panel will have Elijah Wood (Frodo Baggins), Sean Astin (Sam Gamgee), Dominic Monaghan (Merry Brandybuck), and Billy Boyd (Pippin Took). The panel is on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at 7:30PM.

  • General Admission is FREE but the limited seating will be first come, first served.
  • A Silver ticket cost $59 with second priority entry and guaranteed seating.
  • A Gold ticket cost $139 with first priority entry and guaranteed seating.

Why are the Silver and Gold tickets for this panel cost $30 more than the Friday and Sunday panels? Saturday will be the busiest day of the three-day con. The Hobbits are for more popular than failed Jedi masters. The organizers have to make their money somewhere.

The Backstage Pass with The Cast package cost $799. Includes a photo-op with all four actors, autographs from all four actors, and a Gold ticket for the panel. The photo-op and autographs will take place immediately after the end of the panel.

Individual autographs are $100 for Elijah Wood and $80 for everyone else. The Ultimate Cast Autograph with all four actors is $319.

Individual photo-ops are $100 for Elijah Wood and $80 for everyone else.

  • Photo-ops with Elijah Wood and Sean Astin is $180.
  • Photo-ops with Dominic Monaghan & Billy Boyd is $150.
  • The Ultimate Cast Photo-Op with all four actors is $299.

Up to three people can appear in the photo-op.

If you’re huge Hobbit fan and have a fat wallet, get your tickets sooner rather than later. Elijah Wood and Dominic Monaghen will be at the show only on Saturday. Sean Astin and Billy Boyd will at the show on Saturday and Sunday.

A friend reminded me that Moscone Center West was across the street from the AMC Metreon Theatres. Where we saw the extended versions of “The Fellowship of The Ring” and “The Two Towers” on IMAX several weeks before “The Return of The King” came out in December 2003. My bladder was permanently scarred from holding a large soda for each of the three-and-a-half hour-long movies.

Since I gave up sodas over a year ago, I don’t have to worry about watching bladder buster movies.
