A new requirement for the forthcoming Microsoft Windows 11 is the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 2.0. Most prebuilt PCs and laptop have this feature enabled already. PC builders have two choices for enabling this feature: a hard-to-find component to plug into their motherboard or the TPM setting (AMD fTPM or Intel PTT) in the BIOS. NOTE: Different motherboard companies have different locations and names in the BIOS to enable the AMD fTPM. The example presented here is for the Asrock AMD AM4 motherboards.
I recently updated my Windows 10 PC and discovered that the taskbar had a new widget called News and Interests. Needless to say, I didn’t need or want the weather forecast in my taskbar. Here are the steps to remove the widget from the taskbar.
SiliCon with Adam Savage announced their initial guest list several weeks ago. Dirk Benedict, Starbuck from the 1970s “Battlestar Galactica,” was the most notable guest. Most of the other guests were the usual suspects who showed up for Silicon Valley Comic Con. A new guest got added the next day.
William Shatner, Captain Kirk of “Star Trek: The Original Series,” will appear on Sunday only. He hosted the “Star Trek: The Next Generation” panel at SVCC 2017. That was the best run show the organizers for SVCC and SiliCon has ever put on.
